On 29 June 2026, service personnel of the Army stationed at the “Strasho Pindzur” barracks in the Petrovec Garrison, in cooperation with the Skopje Fire Brigade, conducted a fire protection training exercise.
The training was carried out in two parts: a theoretical session and a practical session.
During the theoretical session, professional firefighters presented the most common causes of fires, fire prevention measures, and the procedures for timely and effective response in the event of a fire, including the use of the organizational firefighting equipment available to Army units.
During the practical session, firefighters demonstrated fire suppression procedures and techniques. Participants had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the proper use of firefighting equipment and to familiarize themselves with procedures for safe action in fire emergencies.
The training was conducted at the beginning of the summer season, a period when the risk of fires in both open and enclosed areas is significantly increased.
Similar fire protection training activities, conducted in cooperation with local fire departments, will also be organized in the coming period at the Army’s other garrisons.
