On 18 March 2014, a celebration marking 22 years since the departure of the former Yugoslav People’s Army and handover of the barracks to the units of the territorial defense was held at the barracks “Mirche Acev” in Prilep.
As part of the ceremony, flowers were laid on the bust of Mirche Acev, and the lined up units were addressed by the former President of the municipality of Prilep – Ilija Dimovski, the president of the Fighters Association, Blagoja Chonoski, the Mayor of Prilep, Marjan Ristovski, and the garrison commander Col. Prilep Zarko Risteski.
The ceremony was attended by representatives from several municipal organizations and businesses from Prilep, the Directorate for Protection and Rescue, the Center for Crisis Management, and representatives of the local media.
In the speeches addressed the importance of this date for the republic of Macedonia and the municipality of Prilep was stressed out.
