Today (12.09.2014) in the barracks “NH Straso Pindjur” in Petrovec a ceremony was held on the occasion of the Air Defence Battalion Day, a battalion which is within the Air Brigade.
By decision of the President of Republic of Macedonia and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, September 12th is set as the Air Defence Battalion Day, the day when the first ground-to-air missile was fired.
The ADB Commander, LtC Trajche Denchevski, in his speech stressed that the ADB members, with their efforts, professional attitude, loyalty and responsibility in carrying out the tasks, have shown to be a highly organized and functional unit which achieves respectable results.
The ceremony was attended by Joint Operations Deputy Commander Brigadier General PhD. Muhamet Racaj, 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade Commander Brigadier General Pavle Arsoski, ADB Deputy Commander LtC Robert Malezanski, former commanders of the Air Defence Battalion, ADB members, representatives from local self-government Petrovec and representatives from the Ministry of Interior.
Before the military line cards of congratulations were read by the ARM Chief of Staff and the Commander of the JOC to the battalion members, and on the occasion of the celebration stimulation measures were given.
The ceremony ended with a parade of troops from the composition of the battalion, and then all present at the organized Tactical and Technical Exhibition were familiarized with the resources available to the ADB.
