Today, in the barracks “NH Strasho Pindjur” in Petrovec, a military ceremony was held on the occasion of October 15th, the Day of the Air Surveillance and Reporting Battalion (ASRBn) from the Air Force WING.
The ceremony was attended by the Commander of the Operations Command, Brigadier General Besnik Emini, the Commander of the 1st Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Sashko Lafchiski, heads of sections in WING and other guests.
The Commander of the Unit, Major Kjemal Xhaferi, spoke at the ceremony, thanked and congratulated the personnel for the achieved successes. He emphasized the inclusion of a second NATO country in the NATO Air Policing mission over our national airspace of utmost importance this year.
The deputy commander of WING, Colonel Igor Chkorov, also addressed the audience, and emphasized the importance of ASRB for airspace control, since the coordination for the mission (Air Policing) by the NATO Alliance is carried out from there. He also emphasized that all previous generations of the ASRB have invested a huge personal and professional commitment in the formation and development of air surveillance in the past period, and told the members of the Battalion not only to keep those values, but also to continuously improve and upgrade them so that it represents a permanent obligation.
Congratulations messages to the battalion from the Chief of the Army’s General Staff and the Commander of the Operations Command were read to the lined up troops, and incentive measures were also awarded on the occasion of the Day of the Unit.
