The Engineer Battalion (ENGBN) celebrated the Day of the Unit 13th November, with military ceremony, in ”Ilinden” Barracks, Skopje.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Chief of Staff Major General Muhamet Racaj, Director of General Staff Major General Dimche Petrovski, Chief of Staff in the Joint Operations Command Brigadier General Azim Nuredin, the commanders of subordinate commands and units of the General Staff, former commanders of ENGBN, representatives from War Veterans association and other guests.
By decision of the President and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces the 13th November is the Day of ENGBN since it is a date with historical importance, honouring the Engineer brig. from WWII Head Quarters and partisan squads in Macedonia.
The Chief of Staff of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade Colonel Marjan Simonovski addressed the audience stressing the results achieved by the battalion in the past, in particular by taking an active part in restoring the damages caused by the floods in the region of Tetovo, the construction of the bridge in village Poroj, and the adaptation of the refugee camp in Gevgelija.
The Commander of the ENGBN Major Vasil Mitevski gave a historical overview of the development of Engineer Battalion, built on the foundations of the famous engineering brigade and noted the results achieved in the execution of assigned tasks. Incentives and stimulations measures were read at the ceremony.
Tactical-technical demonstration of equipment and armament was conducted at the end of the ceremony.
