The service personnel of the 1st Infantry Battalion (1st IBn) within the 1st Infantry Brigade (1st IBde) traditionally marked the death anniversary of the national hero Chede Filipovski – Dame, whose name is given to the barracks in the Kichevo garrison.
To mark the occasion, a delegation from the Army and a delegation from the Union of Freedom Fighters of Kichevo municipality laid fresh flowers at the bust of the national hero Chede Filipovski – Dame, located in the Alley of the Greats in the barracks.
In his speech, the commander of the 1st IBn, Lieutenant Colonel Zoranche Ristovski, reflected on the life journey of the national hero Chede Filipovski – Dame, highlighting his rich military and political career and his lifelong fight for justice and freedom for his people.
“By celebrating this day and remembering the sacrifices, we continue the traditions of our past with respect and gratitude. We pay tribute to the national hero Chede Filipovski – Dame, and it is our responsibility to ensure that he remains in the memory of future generations,” said Lieutenant Colonel Ristovski.
The event was also attended by the commander of the 1st Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Dejan Chiplakovski, accompanied by personnel from the brigade’s command and staff.
