In the military barracks “Jane Sandanski” in Shtip, the 2nd Infantry Battalion (2InfBn) and the rest of the units in the barracks celebrated the 22nd of April, the Patron Day of the military barracks with a military ceremony.
There were a lot of guests present at the ceremony including, delegations of the 1st Infantry Brigade (1InfBde) led by the Brigadier General Sashko Lafchiski, representatives of the Macedonian Orthodox Church Diocese of Bregalnica, representatives of the municipality of Shtip, representatives of the Fighters Association in Shtip, representatives of 4 SFAB, representatives of SIA Shtip, directors of public companies, representatives of local government in the zone of operation of the unit and representatives of high schools in Shtip.
The ceremony started with laying fresh flowers for the Macedonian revolutionary leader Jane Sandanski which expressed their deep respect towards him. This year is the 108th anniversary of the heroic death of Jane Sandanski. The military barracks in Shtip got the name “Jane Sandanski” when the Army was founded in 1992.
The Commander of the 2InfBn, Lieutenant Colonel Zoran Sumrachki, gave a speech at the ceremony, saying that by celebrating the patron hero every year the Army contributes to keeping Jane Sandanski’s legacy for future generations.
The ceremony was enriched by artistic musical performance of the students from the High School “Goce Delchev” from Vinica, the City choir of Shtip, with their performance of the national anthem and a song for Jane Sandanski, and a recital performed by the students of the Elementary School “Tosho Arsov” from Shtip.
