Members of the 4th Security Force Assistance Brigade (4.SFAB) of the United States Army visited the largest declared unit of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia- the Light Infantry Brigade at barracks “Jane Sandanski” in Shtip.
The members of the United States Army during their visit became acquainted with the structure of the declared unit, current activities, planned activities for the rest of the year, and procurement of necessary equipment and the modernization process, which will be in accordance with the standards of the NATO Alliance.
After the briefing, accompanied by the Commander of the 2nd Infantry Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Stojanche Kostov and the Commander of the 1st Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General, Besnik Emini, the visitors had an opportunity to see part of the equipment and armament of the unit. The members of the battalion also demonstrated an activity “Infantry Section Patrolling, Reaction and Break Contact”.
The visit resulted in a conclusion that, in the period to come, the Light Infantry Battalion-the largest declared unit, with the guidance and support of the Armed Forces of our strategic partner and through joint exercises, will reach the high standards of NATO.
