A team from the United States European Command (USEUCOM) from 28th to 31st October 2014 visited several of the direct subordinate units of the Joint Operations Command (JOC).
On 28th October the team visited the Engineers Battalion (EngBn) and the NBC Company which are part of the 1st Mechanised Infantry Brigade. The team was informed about the capabilities and assets of the declared units, which support civilian organizations when dealing with accidents in contaminated and non-contaminated area, including the means to support operations with improvised explosive devices (EOD) made from NCB materials.
On 29th October 2014 at the Air Force Brigade (AFBde) the USEUCOM representatives also had the opportunity to see the assets used to support civilian organizations providing transportation during natural disasters and other crisis, dealing with fire and ways of using AFBde air support in case of accidents and disasters.
On 31st October 2014 at the Military Medical Centre (MMC) within the Logistic Support Brigade, the team were acquainted with the capabilities and assets of MMC and Light Manoeuvre Hospital when dealing with the consequences of natural disasters and other crisis.
The aim of this visit was to determine the capabilities and assets of declared units for support of civilian organizations providing transportation in case of natural disasters and crisis as well as dealing with NCB materials.
