Service Personnel of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia from the twelfth and the thirteenth contingent of peacekeeping mission “Resolute Support” had a symbolic duty handover ceremony. Their duties include advice and assistance at the Military Operations Command and at the Train Advise Assist Command – Capital (TAAC – Capital).
In addition to the service personnel of both contingents, there were also other guests at the ceremony, including the Commander of TAAC – Capital, Brigadier General Ahmet Dener of the Turkish Army, Colonel Carlos Oquendo of the US Army and other guests from the Command. They were all abiding by the protocols for preventing the spread of Covid-19.
General Dener addressed the outgoing service personnel expressing his gratitude for their effort and contribution in conducting their tasks at the Command. He also welcomed the new contingent service personnel wishing them good health, successful work and contribution to the mission.
At the end of the ceremony, the peacekeepers of the twelfth contingent were presented certificates of participation in peacekeeping operation in Afghanistan with a NATO medal. For the first time, the flag of the Republic of North Macedonia, as a NATO member state, was put on the certificate.
