Today, at the barracks “Straso Pindzur” in Petrovec a ceremony was held to mark the handover of duty Commander of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade (1stMIBde). Colonel Dragan Kovachki, who until now was a member of the Staff of the Brigade, received the duty from the outgoing Commander of the 1stMIBde, Brigadier General Mirche Gjorgoski.
The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Chief of GS of the Army, Major General Azim Nuredin, the Commander of the Joint Operations Command (JOC), Major General Pavle Arsoski Commanders of the Army units, former Commanders of the 1stMIBde and 2ndMIBde, retired Generals and other guests.
The Commander of the Joint Operations Command (JOC), Major General Pavle Arsoski, the outgoing Commander of the 1stMIBde, Brigadier General Mirche Gjorgoski and the newly appointed Commander, Colonel Dragan Kovachki addressed the audience.
General Arsoski expressed gratitude to the outgoing Commander of the 1stMIBde, General Gjorgoski for his effort and the results achieved during his successful work as a Commander of the Brigade, and congratulated Colonel Kovachki on his new duty wishing him successful work and achieving even greater results with the Brigade.
The outgoing Commander of the Brigade, General Gjorgoski pointed out that it is a great challenge to lead one of the biggest units in the Army and congratulated the newly appointed Commander, Colonel Kovachki on his new duty wishing him success in the numerous assignments and challenges of the unit in the upcoming period.
Colonel Kovachki expressed his gratitude towards his superiors for the trust and opportunity to lead one of the biggest combat units in the Army. In his address to the members of the 1stMIBde he said that with him as a Commander, they will continue carrying out the numerous assignments as a united unit successfully facing all future challenges.
After the signing of the orders for the new appointments of General Gjorgoski and Colonel Kovachki and the ceremonial handover of the military flag of the 1stMIBde, the ceremony ended with a parade by the subordinate units of the Brigade.
