A military ceremony was held today at the military barracks ‘Ilinden’ upon the Commander of the Signals Battalion (SBn) handover of duty. Lieutenant Colonel Dejan Peshevski, previously deputy commander at the same Battalion, took over the command duty from Lieutenant Colonel Ilija Damchevski.
Brigadier General Mirche Gjorgoski delivered a speech before the present guests and unit members during which he cordially thanked the former commander for the effort undertaken and results achieved during his command service at the unit. Also, he congratulated Lieutenant Colonel Peshevski on receiving the new duty, wishing him success and achievement of even greater results with his battalion in the future.
Outgoing Signals Battalion Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Ilija Damchevski in his address, among other things, praised the battalion members for the energy and effort they all put in performing numerous tasks and successful dealing with challenges during his command service.
The incoming commander, Lieutenant Colonel Dejan Peshevski, expressed his gratitude for the placed confidence by appointing him to this responsible duty. He also promised that as a Signals Battalion Commander, together with the entire staff, they will carry on with the established criteria and clear goals, and will give their maximum in delivering even greater results.
The ceremony was attended by: the Operations Command (OC) Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Mirche Gjorgoski; Chief of J-6 Section at the Army General Staff, Colonel Blazho Georgievski, OC, LB (Logistics Base), and SFBn (Special Forces Battalion) representatives and former unit commanders.
At the end of the ceremony with the ceremonial act of handing over the military battalion flag was officially marked the duty handover of Signals Battalion Commander.
