On 22 May 2023, the Commander of the Operations Command, Brigadier General Besnik Emini attended the ceremony on the occasion of opening the “Defender Europe 23” exercise, held at “Mother Teresa” Square in Tirana, the Republic of Albania. The exercise is carried out in the period from 22 May 2023 to 23 June 2023.
“Defender Europe 23” is a multinational joint exercise led by the US European Command, which is carried out through three interrelated exercises within it (“Immediate Response 23”, “Swift Response” and “Saber Guardian”) and it is designed to build readiness and interoperability between the allies and NATO member countries.
During the visit, Brigadier General Besnik Emini also held a meeting with the members of the Army participating in the exercise “Immediate Response 23” in the Republic of Albania.
The Army of the Republic of North Macedonia participates in the exercise “Immediate Response 23” with its forces in the Republic of North Macedonia at the TA Krivolak, as well as in the Republic of Albania, in the Republic of Kosovo, in the Republic of Croatia and in the Republic of Slovenia.
