The service personnel of the Flight Support Platoon within the Command Company (FSpl/comcoy) of the Air Force Ving (AF VING) carried out training for bouldering, in the area of Demir Kapija, in the period from 12 to 18 September.
The main goal of the training is to enable the service personnel of the FSpl/comcoy to complete mission tasks in unknown and inaccessible terrain. The training was conducted by certified instructors from the Special Forces Battalion in cooperation with members of the Rapid Deployable Unit from the Ministry of Interior.
A large number of topics from basic and advanced alpinism were covered, such as knot tying, rock climbing, rock descent, descent and ascent using tools, construction of anchorages, bridges, ropes and systems of casualty evacuation from inaccessible terrain and transportation to a safe zone.
The AF VING Chief of Staff, accompanied with staff members responsible for the training, conducted a tour and control of the activity.
The training was completed successfully, fully adhering to the security measures. This type of training is a regular activity for the service personnel of the FSpl/comcoy, carried out in accordance with the training calendar, with the aim of refreshing the knowledge and procedures for flawless tasks execution as part of the unit’s mission.
