At the Air Force Brigade (AFBDE) within the composition of the JOC, the newly appointed pilots successfully realized their first flights with the ARM transport and combat helicopters.
The Pilots with lieutenant ranks, Stefan Georgiev, Iva Matic, Dejan Slavevski and Trajche Jovkovski deployed at the Transport Helicopters Squadron and the Combat Helicopter Squadron attended a long theoretical training and flight simulations before carrying out their first flights.
First, they intensively followed instruction in a technical classroom which helped their acquisition of flight rules and procedures, guidance on using helicopters and airport instructions.
After the theoretical instruction, exams determining the pilots ‘acquired knowledge were carried out. After successfully passing the exams, they began their training on the flight simulators which lasted certain number of hours/classes. When this flight simulator training ended, the pilots started the next phase – flying the helicopters.
The training requires perseverance and determination as well as a great commitment to arrive to the moment when what they have learned will be used flying the helicopters. Further training will be with the purpose of their upgrading and improving the piloting technique.
This is a great day not only for the new pilots who gained their first flying experience but also for AFDBE and the ARM which obtained their new pilot personnel.
