On February 20 (Thursday) in the logistic support brigade command in accordance with the annual work plan of the civil-military cooperation section from Joint Operational Command, was held a seminar on “Implementation of the Law on the protection and improvement of the environment, with focus in the management of waste materials”.
The seminar, wich was the first of its kind, also the coordinators of Ecology and Environmental Protection attended, and representatives of the garrisons in the Republic Of Macedonia who perform duty of this domain.
Some of the content presented were general concepts of the Law of Nature and Environment, ecology, environmental management, about hazardous waste, waste disposal, and duties of individuals, commands and units for protection and improvement in of nature and environment in military environment.
Special emphasis was placed on protecting the environment while conducting military activities and its recovery during and after performed exercises, special work accidents and disasters in military facilities and areas, tasks and responsibilities in emergencies and wars.
Army through projects “Day of the Tree” and “Macedonia without waste” is actively involved in raising environmental awareness in order to protect and promote the environment and the successful implementation of the Law for protection and environment improvement in the ARM.
