On 25th September 2019 at Ilinden barracks, Skopje Garrison, representatives of the Engineer battalion, of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade had a meeting with high representatives of the Italian Army.
The aim of the visit was to carry out expert talks and exchange of experiences with engineer battalion teams for search and destruction of unexploded ordnance. Hence, engineer battalion representatives organized a workshop for managing ammunition and mine-explosive device and exchange of experiences, personnel positioning and material availability of the teams. A briefing was also held and a demonstration exercise with elements of search and destruction of unexploded ordnance.
The Commander of the engineer battalion familiarized the visitors with the capacities, available forces and means of our Army, as well as with realized trainings. At the closing meeting representatives from both Armies reached an agreement for further cooperation in the area of trainings and exchange of experiences referring to unexploded ordnance.
