In the period from 13 to 21 May, the Military Police Battalion (MPBn) service members participated in the international military police exercise “Beyond Horizon-24” (Novo Selo Training Area– NSTA) in the Republic of Bulgaria.
In addition to the MPBn service members, Military Police personnel from five countries (Bulgaria, Canada, Romania, Greece and the United States) took part in this international military police exercise. Our Army has established cooperation in the field of the Military Police services with these countries. The aim of the exercise is to enhance the synchronization and coordination among the armies of the six countries participating in the exercise when conducting military police tasks
Once again, the MPBn service members, with their professional and responsible conduct, contributed to an excellent opportunity for affirmation and enhancement of the unit‘s reputation, as well as the Army at international level.
During the exercise, MPBn service members along with other participants were trained on the following topics: mobile check point, cordon and search, combat skills, operations related to procedures with prisoners of war, detention, etc. The high level of interoperability and ability to integrate into international forces when performing high-intensity operations was demonstrated.
The participation of MPBn service members in such international exercises enables better elaboration of procedures, techniques and tactics when organizing and conducting military police tasks, in accordance with NATO standards.
