From 7 to 11 September 2026, personnel from the Reconnaissance Platoon of the 2nd Infantry Battalion (2nd Inf Bn), part of the 1st Infantry Brigade (1st Inf Bde), participated in the international “12 Best Squad Competition” held in the Republic of Slovenia.
Seventeen teams from NATO member and partner armed forces participated in the competition, which provided an opportunity to assess the participants’ individual and collective capabilities, as well as their teamwork.
At this prestigious competition, our team demonstrated its professionalism, readiness, and commitment across multiple disciplines and scenarios involving physical, tactical, and leadership tasks, fully applying modern military standards.
The challenges required not only physical and mental readiness, but also knowledge, precision, determination, perseverance, and teamwork in marksmanship, land navigation and movement, casualty care, combat physical training, operations in specific situations under physical exertion, bunker destruction, and scenarios involving CBRN defence.
It was a test of discipline and the ability to operate when conditions become difficult, without rest, when the terrain leaves no room for error, and when weather conditions create an additional challenge to the successful completion of the tasks.
Army personnel once again demonstrated their capabilities and commitment to shared goals and values, achieving outstanding results as one of the 13 participating teams that successfully completed the competition.
