On 19 and 20.6.2014 in the grounds of the barracks “Boro Menkov” Kumanovo and “Mirche Acev” in Prilep there was joint training of officers and soldiers from 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion (1.mib) and artillery battalion (artbn) of composition of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade, with members of the local firefighting units from Kumanovo and Prilep.
This training was realized according to the plan for training of 1.mib and artbn within the civil military cooperation on “fire protection, access and extinguishing vehicle on fire, as well as the use of equipment and resources for extinguishing fire”.
The training was primarily designed for firefighting crews from the composition of the barracks, and consisted of theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part of the training by professional firefighters the present were introduced with the hazards that cause fires, taking preventive measures and fire protection. During the practical realization the firefighters demonstrated the actions for extinguishing fire with fire-fighting vehicle, taking measures and firefighting until the arrival of firefighting vehicles, etc.
The purpose of this training is before the summer heat, when fire hazard increases, to practice the procedures for suppression of fires, so as the ARM members could actively contribute to the suppression of fires occurring in the barracks area and beyond, if necessary.
During the implementation of the training all participants demonstrated a high level of training, high efficiency and coordination between the ARM units and teams who are professionals in firefighting.
