In the last three days, NATO Special Operations Headquarters delegation visited the Special Operations Regiment.
The aim of the visit was to look at the alignment of the special operations unit of the Macedonian Army with the NATO Special Operations Headquarters concept for development, coordination and direction of all NATO Special Operations, especially its integration after the Army becomes a full NATO member.
The Deputy Commander of the NATO Special Operations Headquarters Brigadier General Robin Stevenson led the delegation which included representatives of the NATO member countries of Bulgaria, Greece, Croatia, Turkey, Poland and the United Kingdom. A discussion was held at the military barracks of Goce Delcev in Skopje in which representatives from the Special Operations regiment took part as well as representatives of the Macedonian Ministry of Defence, General Stuff of ARM, Joint Operations Command, Ministry of Internal Affairs and NATO Liaison Office.
As a result of this visit resolutions and instructions have been given in order to have fast and efficient integration and transformation of the Special Forces including future cooperation.
