In the spirit of marking the ARM jubilee and 25 years since the formation of the Honour Guard Battalion, the Day of the unit was celebrated at the House of ARM in Skopje with an appropriate programme including a concert performed by the military orchestra.
With a programme content worthy of the jubilee, the military orchestra, in a one-hour concert, performed many compositions from their well known repertoire, while the Honour Guard members displayed their exhibition drill.
Besides the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Metodija Velichkovski, the celebration was attended by other ARM Generals, Commanders of ARM units, Honor Guard members’ families, as well as many other guests.
The President of the Republic of Macedonia and the Supreme Commander of Macedonian Armed Forces issued a decree to pronounce 11th November the Day of the Honour Guard in memory of the traditions of the First Macedonian-Kosovo Assault Brigade which was formed on this day in 1943 in the village of Slivovo.
