ARM Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Metodija Velichkovski had a protocol farewell meeting with the US Defence Attaché in the Republic of Macedonia, Colonel Thomas Butler.
General Velickovski expressed gratitude to Colonel Butler for their successful cooperation so far, emphasizing the importance of the strategic partnership in several inter-army fields between the ARM and the Armed Forces of the United States in fulfilling our set goals for full-fledged membership in the NATO Alliance.
At the meeting, attended as well by the newly appointed Air Defence Attaché of the US Army Lieutenant Colonel Eric Rice, the upcoming joint exercises of the ARM and the US Army, such as the exercise “Cyber Guardian” which will be held in Romania was discussed, but also the bilateral military exercise “Dragon Ride” which will be held in the Republic of Macedonia from 26.07 to 04.08.2017.
Once again, General Velichkovski expressed his determination for further strengthening and expanding of the mutual cooperation between the two armies through projects development, in the function of full interoperability of the ARM with the NATO standards.
