In the period from 25th to 27th April, 2016 a delegation from the Bulgarian Army Military Police led by Deputy Director of the Logistics and Training Centre, Lieutenant Colonel Nikola Jovkov and the Chief Inspector from the Sector for Safety and Control in Traffic, Lieutenant Colonel Simeon Georgiev visited the Military Police Battalion (MPBn).
The delegation was met by the MPBn Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Vasko Kokolanski and representatives of the MPBn command and staff. During the two-day visit the delegation had the opportunity to familiarize with the role and the mission of the unit, its structure, equipment, experience gained from participating in missions and with the challenges the unit is facing while supporting MIA units in dealing with the refugee crisis at the south border.
In the course of the visit there were talks on the military police rules of engagement, as well as the trends for developing and modernizing the military police in the NATO countries.
The visit continued with a tactical-technical assembly where part of the equipment used by the unit was displayed, and also two methodical-demonstration exercises were realized: ‘Military Police Crowd Control’ and ‘Service Dog Discovers Explosive Device in a Vehicle’.
