This year the Ranger Battalion hosted the traditional Ranger Games for the 10th time. The Battalion proved an excellent host, who gained in popularity of the games, as well as the performance and impressive results. For the first time this year, besides the participation of 12 teams of the Army units, one team of the Rapid Deployable Unit, and of the Special Anti-terrorist Unit of the Ministry of Interior took part.
Lieutenant Colonel Mentor Saiti, in the presence of the Deputy Chief of the Genera Staff, Major Genral Azim Nuredin, addressed the participants at the opening of the Games, explaining that this sort of games upgrade competitive skills and team work. In addition, he wished them successful performance.
In the course of the four-day games, participants competed in the following disciplines: throwing hand grenade, shooting with automatic sniper rifle and pistol, assembly and disassembly of weapons, obstacle course race, unfamiliar terrain orientation, and others. Participants showed remarkable endurance, skills and team work.
The winning teams and individuals were announced at the closing of the Games today. This is motivation for all members of the Army and the MOI to further upgrade their personal professional and competitive skills.
The winners of the Ranger Games were announced as follows: The Rapid Deployable Unit of the MOI won the first place, the Special Anti-terrorist Unit Tigers won the second place, and the Ranger Battalion won the third place.
