On the occasion of marking 20 years since the tragic death of the Ranger Battalion service member, Staff Sergeant Zoran Jovanov-Cigo, numerous delegations laid wreaths of flowers in the Ilinden barracks in Skopje.
Delegations from the Ranger Battalion and other Army units, as well as relatives and friends paid tribute at his memorial, and on this occasion a parachute jump and a futsal tournament were held.
Zoran Jovanov gained his parachuting experience in the aero club Yuri Gagarin and as a soldier in the 63rd Parachute Brigade in the former JNA. Then as a parachuting instructor in a Ranger Battalion within the Special Operations Regiment he shared his knowledge with the Army members.
Zoran Jovanov tragically lost his life on this day, in 2004, during his 298 parachute jump at the sports airport Konjari near Prilep.
