The Air Force VING was urgently engaged in supporting the forest fire extinguishing operation in the Jasen region.
The intervention began at 06:30 in the morning, after receiving official notification and completing coordination with the competent institutions.
During the three-hour intervention, several flights were carried out with a total of 26 drops and 52 tons of water were poured onto the critical hot spots of the fire. The operation also involved capacities from the Directorate for Protection and Rescue (DPR) and the Ministry of Interior (MOI), which provided logistic and operational support on the ground. The air support enabled a significant reduction in the intensity of the fire and prevented its spread.
This intervention once again confirms the vital role of the Air Force VING in dealing with natural disasters, providing fast, precise and efficient air support. The teams remain in a state of heightened alert in order to protect the environment, the population and property.
