In the period from 2 to 6 February 2026, a workshop for the finalization of the documentation for Exercise “Flash 26” (B26) was conducted at the “Jane Sandanski” barracks in Shtip.
At the opening of the workshop, the Exercise Director expressed satisfaction with the progress of the planning process and with the documents prepared for the exercise, within which the evaluation of the Light Infantry Battalion Group (LIBG) will be conducted in accordance with the Combat Readiness Evaluation Standards for Land Commands and Units of the NATO Allied Joint Force Command (CREVAL).
During the workshop, the planning team worked on defining the main events, thereby ensuring a realistic scenario for the exercise participants. At the same time, the requirements and constraints for the execution of Exercise B26 were updated.
In parallel with the exercise planning team, the evaluation team designated to assess the combat capability of the LIBG worked at the Training Centre “Pepelishte”, focusing on the finalization of documents within their area of responsibility.
For the first time within the planning process, the team that will perform the role of the Higher Control (HICON) for the evaluated unit was also involved, and it developed its own operational order.
As part of the workshop, a coordination meeting was held between the exercise planning team, the LIBG evaluation team, and the HICON cell team, during which key documents and activities necessary for the successful execution of the exercise were further refined. Additionally, reconnaissance of several locations at the Training Area “Krivolak” was conducted.
The next and final activity in the planning process for the exercise is the Final Coordination Conference, scheduled to take place in March 2026.
