The Army has organized the Second International Seminar on the Development of the Non-Commissioned Officer Corps on the topic “Education Today – Operational Capabilities Tomorrow” which is being held from the 8 to 12 June 2026. Brigadier General Mirche Gjorgoski, the Commander of the Operations Command, opened the seminar and in his address emphasized the importance of continuous education and professional development of non-commissioned officers as a key factor for increasing the Army’s operational capabilities and strengthening interoperability with allied and partner armies.
There were participants from different armed forces including the service personnel from the Macedonian Army, representatives from the U.S. European Command (USEUCOM), the armed forces of Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, and the Kosovo Security Force. The seminar represents an important platform for exchanging experiences, good practices, and ideas related to the professional development of non-commissioned officers because they are backbones of leadership, training, and combat readiness in modern militaries.
During the seminar, participants discuss three key areas: enhancing interoperability through harmonization of military training systems; identifying needs and challenges in the professional military education of non-commissioned officers; and opportunities to integrate advanced technologies into the education and training process.
The seminar especially emphasizes exchange of experience in the development of non-commissioned officer education systems, mentorship programs, international cooperation and student exchanges, as well as application of modern digital tools and technologies that increasingly shape 21st-century military education.
Participants examine opportunities to further strengthen cooperation among partner armies and jointly improve the professional development of the non-commissioned officer corps through presentations, working sessions, and discussions.
The seminar confirms that if you invest in the education and development of non-commissioned officers, you directly invest in the operational capabilities, readiness, and resilience of the armed forces. At the same time, the seminar contributes to strengthening mutual trust, partnership, and interoperability among allied and partner armies.
