As part of the planned visits to Army commands and units, the Chief of the Army General Staff, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, recently visited the Army units stationed at the barracks in Shtip and Chojlija, where he met with their personnel.
During these engagements, discussions focused on ongoing activities, training, achievements, and priorities for further modernisation, equipping, and enhancement of the Army’s operational capabilities. They also covered participation in international missions, interoperability with Allied armed forces, and readiness to support civilian institutions.
Particular emphasis was placed on the new legislative provisions enabling professional soldiers to continue their careers in service to the Army and their homeland beyond the age of 45, until retirement. This ensures due recognition of the years of dedication, knowledge, and experience acquired by Army personnel. The existing legal options, including severance pay amounting to two average national salaries for each year of service in the Army, as well as transfers to state and local government institutions, remain available to those who choose these options.
The Chief of the General Staff will continue visiting other commands, garrisons, and units in the coming period, in accordance with the established schedule.
