At the invitation of the Macedonian Sports Shooting Federation, teams from Army units participated in the 20th International Open Shooting Tournament “Grand Prix Skopje 2026,” which was held on 16 and 17 May at the “Kamnik” Sports Shooting Range in Skopje.
The President of the Macedonian Sports Shooting Federation, Jordan Tasevski, addressed the opening of the 20th competition, wishing the participants success and the achievement of high results during the tournament.
Army personnel competed in the following disciplines: 25-meter pistol shooting, 100-meter rifle shooting, 100-meter small-caliber rifle, and 200-meter tactical semi-automatic sniper rifle shooting.
In the women’s team competition, in the 25-meter pistol discipline, second place was won by the team from the Army General Staff. In the men’s team competition, in the 100-meter small-caliber rifle discipline, second place was won by the Special Forces Battalion team.
In the women’s individual competition, in the 25-meter pistol discipline, Sergeant Irena Lekoska from the Special Forces Battalion won the third place, while in the 100-meter small-caliber rifle individual discipline, the third place was won by the Second Lieutenant Sara Dimoska from the Military Police Battalion.
In the men’s individual competition, in the 100-meter small-caliber rifle discipline, Sergeant Dimitar Stojanovski from the Reconnaissance and Intelligence Battalion won the second place, while in the 100-meter rifle shooting discipline, the third place was won by Corporal Vasiljko Antikj from the Special Forces Battalion.
The International Open Shooting Tournament is one of the largest and most attractive sports shooting tournaments. Army personnel traditionally participate in it, taking the opportunity to demonstrate their readiness in the disciplines they compete in and where they consistently achieve notable results.
