During the exercise “Swift Response-22”, organized by USAREUR-AF, several projects in the field of Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) were conducted. In April reconstruction and renovation of 3 roads in villlage Krivolak, with a total length of 1000 meters of buffering and expansion, were completed. The roads were repaired by the Engineering Battalion of the Operations Command. The residents living in the area where the roads were repaired expressed their gratitude.
A basketball match was organized together with the students from the high school “Cyril and Methodius” in Negotino and the members of the US Army. During the event, students had the opportunity to talk to a representative from the American Corner and got familiarized with the opportunities it offers. A donation of a fence for the school was made by the US Army.
As part of the exercise, the US Embassy Office of Defense Cooperation, in cooperation with the CIMIC union, conducted training of FAA Teams in the Municipality of Radovis, which was attended by teams from FАА Shtip, FAA Radovish, FAA Negotino and FAA Konce. During the training, various situations of giving first aid in case of an accident were shown in order to renew the previous knowledge and introduce new skills.
The paratroopers who participated in the exercise, together with a medical team and a paratrooper from our Army, visited the American Corner in Shtip, where the visitors had the opportunity to get acquainted with the equipment used, to try it and to get acquainted how the paratroopers prepare for their jumps.
The realization of these activities has deepened the cooperation between the Army and the local self-governments in the vicinity of ATA “Krivolak”, as well as a significant strengthening of the trust that the Army continuously has by the citizens.
