As part of the final preparations for the 17th Balkan Countries Chiefs of Defense Conference, which will be held from June 5 to 7, 2024 in Durres, Albania, the third meeting of the coordination group for the preparation of the conference was held.
At the meeting attended by representatives from the B-9 initiative member countries, the tasks from the joint statement of the 16th Balkan Countries Chiefs of Defense Conference, as well as from the second meeting of the coordination group, were reviewed.
The subgroups for asymmetric threats, education, training and exercises reviewed and approved the annual reports that refer to the work of these subgroups.
At the same time, other materials needed for the realization of the conference were prepared, the conclusions of this third meeting of the coordination group were produced, and a reconnaissance of the location where the conference will be held was carried out.
The preparations contribute to the successful realization of the conference, which as an initiative strengthens the military cooperation of the Balkan countries and responds to all security challenges, risks and threats in the region.
