The cooperation between the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia and NATO allies, partners and friendly armies continues in these complex conditions of dealing with the spread of the global pandemic with the “Covid-19” virus in the form of solidarity and support.
In the past period, following the declaration of a state of emergency due to a pandemic, allied and partner armies have demonstrated direct or indirect support and are involved in solidarity assistance and the implementation of measures aimed at preventing the spread of the epidemic.
The Turkish Armed Air Forces, which is our strategic partner, yesterday transported medical protective equipment for the Macedonian public health in dealing with the pandemic with “Covid-19”. The donation, which consisted of protective medical masks, protective suits, diagnostic tests and other medical supplies, was received by the Deputy Chief of General Staff, Major General Azim Nuredin, as an official from the Army who expressed gratitude for the solidarity.
Earlier, the military representatives of the United Kingdom Armed Forces in our country handed over a donation consisting of protective gloves and several types of high-pressure pumps and hand-held disinfection pumps. The US strategic partner has donated funds for this purpose. The military representatives of the People’s Republic of China in our country handed over protective equipment and disinfectants for the needs of the members of our Army, and the Slovenian military aircraft transported medical supplies.
With the full membership in the NATO Alliance, our country and the Army are already part of the system of support from member states in logistic and transport support of medical equipment. We also use the NATO Joint Information System through the Crisis Management Center, which is part of the program “Next generation incident system” which serves for better exchange of information and cooperation between institutions within the country.
