Today, a KFOR delegation led by the mission Commander, Major General Giovanni Fungo, undertook a one-day working visit to ARM GS and MoD of RM.
The Chief of GS of ARM, Lieutenant General Metodija Velichkovski, highlighted the high level of cooperation between ARM and KFOR. The security situation in the region, continual exchange of information and enhancement of the cooperation in order to maintain and strengthen the stability and security in the region were discussed at the meeting with the Chief of GS of ARM. The excellent cooperation with the NATO Military Liaison Office in Skopje was also mentioned.
During the visit, General Fungo also had a meeting with the Minister of Defence, Radmila Shekerinska.
The Republic of Macedonia, within the KFOR mission, has been providing constant logistic support to NATO since the beginning of the mission. Since June 2007, the Host Nation Support Coordination Center, which is part of the Logistics Support Brigade of ARM, has been in operational readiness. The aim of this center is coordination with KFOR for customs and border procedures regarding transportation and movement, as well as other KFOR logistic needs, and thus ARM indirectly takes part in the mission.
