With the meeting held at the General Staff (GS) between the Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski and the Commander of the Multinational Brigade of Southeast Europe (SEEBRIG), Brigadier General Aristedeis Iliopoulos, attended as well by the GS ARM chiefs of sections for operations and training, and members of the SEEBRIG headquarters, started the two-day evaluation tour of the declared ARM units in this brigade.
On the first day of the tour the delegation visited the declared engineering platoon within the Engineering Battalion (ENB) at the Operations Command (OM), at the AP “Krivolak”, where most of the command, staff and subordinate units have been engaged for a longer period now.
The representatives of SEEBRIG headquarters were acquainted with the mission of the unit, the structure and capacities of the unit and the declared engineering platoon. The representatives of the SEEBRIG headquarters then performed an evaluation inspection of the platoon, followed by an exercise in real conditions on the road v. Mushanci – v. Eneshevo on the topic: “Repair of a damaged section of the road.”
Today, in accordance with the Tour Plan, the Operations Command has been visited, and the team has been received by the Commander of the OM, Major General Pavle Arsoski. In addition, the declared infantry company of the Second Infantry Battalion has been inspected, and the capabilities of the unit have been presented on the topic: “Military operations in an urban environment with the release of a hostage”.
As part of SEEBRIG, ARM has been participating with an infantry company and an engineering platoon since its formation, and so far has participated in the following exercises in the country and abroad: “Corner Stone 2000” at AP “Krivolak”, R. Macedonia; “Corner Stone 2002” in Plovdiv, R. Bulgaria; “Corner Stone 2003” in Constanta, R. Romania and “Adriatic Phiblex 2004” in Slunj, R. Croatia. The location of the SEEBRIG Command operates on the principle of rotation and from 26.8.2020 it has been located in the barracks “Boro Menkov” in Kumanovo. In its multinational peace mission, besides our country, are included R. Turkey, R. Greece, R. Bulgaria, R. Albania and R. Romania.
