Today, the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski paid an official visit to the Command of the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps based in Thessaloniki, the Hellenic Republic.
During his stay in the NATO Corps Command in Thessaloniki, General Gjurchinovski had a meeting with the Commander, Lieutenant General Athanasios Garinis, after which the delegation had a working meeting with the key staff personnel of the NATO Corps.
During the meeting between Generals Gjurchinovski and Garinis, several topics related to the military cooperation were discussed, as well as the possibilities and forms of further joint activities with the NATO Corps.
The accession of the Army to this NATO Rapid Deployable Corps took place in 2023, following the prior signing of an accession agreement, when we began participating with one staff officer in the operations division.
During the previous meetings of General Gjurchinovski with the commanders of the Corps, they have discussed the possibilities of using the capacities of TA “Krivolak” and also, joint training and exercises have been considered.
The Army has active cooperation with the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps in Italy as well and by participating in the activities of these forces, we increase our contribution in strengthening the collective security and improve our capabilities, training and interoperability when engaging in NATO-led operations.
