Today, at barracks “Alekso Demnievski-Bauman” in Veles, there was a military celebration marking the Day of the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC).
The Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Army of the Republic of Macedonia, Major General Muhamet Racaj addressing the audience congratulated TRADOC military personnel on the Day of the Unit, and emphasized that this command with its servicemen is the main pillar of training and acquisition of new knowledge and skills, which are one of the most important components of the army.
TRADOC Deputy Commander Colonel Stojanche Todorov gave a short historical account of the unit, highlighting that so far all tasks had been accomplished successfully and professionally and all tasks and activities that stem from the mission of the unit will be carried out with the same enthusiasm in the future.
The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Chief of ARM General Staff Major General Muhamet Racaj, Director of ARM GS Major General Dimche Petrovski, MoD and ARM GS representatives, commanders of the subordinate commands and units of ARM, former TRADOC commanders, retired TRADOC NCOs, associates and guests from the local government.
A blood donating and a humanitarian events were organized in the period preceding the official day of the unit celebration and there were also sport competitions in futsal, table tennis, chess and marksmanship together with representatives from local organizations so as to mark the successful cooperation. In addition, fresh flowers were laid at the statue of Alekso Demnievski-Bauman in Veles, whose namesake is the barracks in Veles.
Stimulative measures for the service personnel and certificates of appreciation for associates were given at the celebration. In addition, the winning teams of the sport competitions that took place beforehand were announced.
At the end of the celebration there was a short cultural and art performance.
15th April is set as the day of the Training and Doctrine Command with a decree by the President of the Republic of Macedonia. This date actually marks the start of the compulsory service of the first generation recruits in the Army of the Republic of Macedonia in independent and sovereign Republic of Macedonia in 1992.
