Today, 14.08.2014, on the occasion of the celebration of 18th August, the Day of ARM, at the cemetery Butel in Skopje, a ceremony for laying wreaths of fresh flowers with military honors was held at the Partisan cemetery, the grave of the late president Boris Trajkovski, the grave of former President Kiro Gligorov, and the grave of General Mihailo Apostolski.
The wreaths of fresh flowers were laid by the Minister of Defence Dr. Zoran Jolevski, Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Goranco Koteski and delegations from: the Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Macedonia, the Parliament, the Government, the Association of WW II Veterans and The Association of Reserve Forces of Macedonian Army.
The Minister of Defence Dr. Zoran Jolevski said that by passing the flowers we paid tribute to the merits that these people have done for the Army of the Republic of Macedonia, its formation and becoming one of the main pillars of peace and security in the Republic of Macedonia.
The Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Goranco Koteski thanked former Presidents and Supreme Commanders who commanded and led the army, for their contribution to its formation, functioning and modernization.
Paying tribute to the people who contributed to the formation and development of the Army of Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Macedonia is one of the activities with which the Army marks August 18th.
