President of the Republic of Macedonia and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Gjorje Ivanov, CGS of ARM Lieutenant General Metodija Velichkovski visited the Training Command and Doctrine (TRADOC) at the Military Barracks “Alekso Demnievski-Bauman” in Veles as part of a planned visit in order to see the ARM working conditions.
The US Ambassador to the Republic of Macedonia HE Jess Bailey joined the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Macedonia and CGS of ARM to officially open the Center for Simulations which is a donation of the United States of America.
During the visit, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Macedonia also visited the accommodation and training facilities of TRADOC and saw the working and living conditions of the soldiers who serve in the ranks as volunteers. He also visited the course for Master Sergeants, which is going on at the moment.
The Commanding Officers of TRADOC and GS of ARM gave a presentation to President Ivanov about the importance of the role of TRADOC including activities conducted by TRADOC. In addition, military expert literature was presented, which was published this year as part of the 25th anniversary of establishing of ARM.
At the press conference for the opening of the Center for Simulations, General Velichkovski thanked the USA for their support in equipping the Center. The center for Simulation will help in training the commands and headquarters of ARM to a higher level, including the additional opportunity to establish a network with all other Centers for Simulations in the region.
Ambassador Bailey said that the Center for Simulations would raise the readiness level of the officers and give them a chance to conduct operations in real conditions.
At the end of the visit, President Ivanov, General Velichkovski, Ambassador Bailey, ARM Generals and the TRADOC Commander had lunch with the soldiers who serve in the ranks as volunteers. After completing their three month-service, the soldiers can apply to join the army as professionals.
Training Command and Doctrine is the only command within the army whose mission is organizing and conducting individual training of soldiers, cadets, non-commissioned officers and officers from the active and reserve units. TRADOC also provides support to the collective training of the other ARM commands and units, including developing Doctrines and analyzing lessons learned in the Army of the Republic of Macedonia.
