The President and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Stevo Pendarovski accompanied by the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski, visited the service personnel of the Army who serve in KFOR mission within the Regional Command – West in Pec.
During their visit, President Pendarovski and General Gjurchinovski met with the Commander of the Regional Command – West, Colonel Francesco Ferrara. They were informed about the objectives of the Command as well as the tasks which the Command conducts in support of the peace and security of the Republic of Kosovo.
In addition, the commander of the Macedonian peacekeepers’ contingent briefed the visitors about the Macedonian peacekeepers’ obligations, tasks and current activities they conduct within the KFOR mission.
President Pendarovski commended the Army service personnel, who are 65 in this contingent, for their professionalism and dedication in conducting their tasks, emphasizing that they represent the honor, professionalism and morale of all Macedonian Army service personnel.
The Army of the Republic of North Macedonia have been participating in the mission KFOR within the Regional Command – West in Pec since November 2020. Macedonian service personnel, together with Italian service personnel, conduct tasks such as, patrol and security detail of the monastery Dechani and the Command. Staff officers of the Macedonian contingent serve within main KFOR mission command in Pristina.
