The President and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Stevo Pendarovski and the Chief of the General Staff of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia visited the members of the Army engaged in extinguishing the fires in the barracks “Mirche Acev” in Prilep and the burning places in the vicinity of village Toplica.
The Army members deployed in the barracks, who are in constant readiness to intervene in case of need to strengthen the forces on the ground, at a short briefing informed about the ongoing activities they have undertaken since the beginning of the engagement in extinguishing fires in the Prilep region. As they pointed out, in the Prilep barracks there is coordination with members of the Army from several surrounding municipalities, emphasizing the excellent cooperation of the Army with other institutions involved in dealing with fires.
“Huge gratitude once again to you and your families. No one will forget this extraordinary effort you are making. I hope that the fires will not last long and that you will be able to slowly return to the regular military service and your families,” President Pendarovski told the Army members.
During the tour of the burned places in the vicinity of the village Toplica, President Pendarovski was informed about the engaged army capacities, as well as the obligations of the Army in putting out the fires in this area.
President Pendarovski and General Gjurchinovski emphasized the great professionalism and commitment of all army members who unreservedly engage themselves in extinguishing fires in all critical locations across the country.
