At a symbolic ceremony, in accordance with the protocols and recommendations for protection against the virus “Covid 19”, in the barracks “Ilinden” in Skopje was performed a handover of the duty of Commander of the Special Forces Battalion.
With the ceremonial act of handing over the military flag of the Special Forces Battalion, in the presence of the Army Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski, the duty of commander of this most representative army unit was officially changed.
The duty of the current battalion commander, Lieutenant Colonel Gjorgji Veljovski was taken over by Lieutenant Colonel Zariovski Oliver.
The Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski, in his short address paid tribute to Lieutenant Colonel Veljovski for his work so far, by which he left his own mark in the unit, and congratulated the newly appointed Commander on his duty wishing him successful work and leadership that is appropriate for the unit’s reputation.
Lieutenant Colonel Gjorgji Veljovski expressed his gratitude to the military team for the cooperation so far, emphasizing that the unit will forever remain an inseparable part of his career.
The newly appointed commander, Lieutenant Colonel Zariovski, who has so far served as deputy commander of the Ranger Battalion, told the present members of the unit that he will always and everywhere be with them and for them, achieving the recognizable motto of the Wolves unit – ” The first ones always and everywhere “.
