Today, the Chief of the Army General Staff, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, had a meeting with the Commander of the NATO mission in Kosovo “KFOR”, Major General Enrico Barduani, who is on a working visit to the General Staff and the Ministry of Defense.
At the meeting, General Barduani expressed his satisfaction with the high professionalism and dedication of the Army personnel participating in the KFOR mission.
Additionally, the current political and security situation in the region was reviewed, emphasizing the importance of allied support and joint contribution to the stability and security of the Western Balkans.
As part of the visit, Major General Barduani also met with the Minister of Defense, Vlado Misajlovski.
The Army of the Republic of North Macedonia has been an active participant in the KFOR mission since 2020, and the contribution is currently established through two platoons deployed in Sector “West” as part of the Italian Armed Forces contingent, as well as five staff officers deployed to the KFOR Command in Prishtina.
