Today, 27th of February, Defence Minister Zoran Jolevski and ARM Deputy Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Naser Sejdini had a meeting with the six Staff Officers departing to participate in the mission “Decisive Support” in Afghanistan, who will be deployed in Mazar-e-Sharif within Command North.
Minister Jolevski, wishing the Staff Officers a successful and safe operation, pointed out that by participation in the new NATO mission in Afghanistan Macedonia expresses a strong commitment to a full membership in the alliance. Expressing a firm conviction that the Staff Officers will represent Republic of Macedonia with a dignity, the Defence Minister expressed readiness for any kind of support to them by the Ministry and the General Staff.
During the meeting, Minister Jolevski was familiarized with the work and tasks of the Staff Officers within the Command North of the mission “Decisive Support”.
The ARM Staff Officers in the next six months will perform tasks of high duties under the Command North in Mazar-e-Sharif, Afghanistan, which is under the jurisdiction of the German Bundeswehr.
At the end of December 2014 Republic of Macedonia started participating in the mission “Decisive Support” with thirteen ARM Staff Officers, deployed in the Kabul Command, and twenty members as a part of the unit for providing security to the main Command of the mission.
