Defence Minister Zoran Jolevski and ARM Deputy Chief of Staff Major General Muhamet Racaj met with the six Staff Officers of the Army on the occasion of their departure in the mission “Resolute Support” in Afghanistan. They will be deployed in Mazar-e-Sharif under the Command for Training, Counselling and Assistance – North.
The ARM Staff Officers presented the tasks to be performed within their duties in the next six months under the German contingent of the Command North in Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan.
On this occasion, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Macedonia, Zoran Jolevski, said that Macedonia is proud of its peacekeepers who continually demonstrate exceptional abilities and skills. “I know that you are fully prepared, you have a lot of experience and you will represent our Army in the true light,” the Minister added. He pointed out that besides our commitment to global peace, which is a fact recognized by our allies, by participating in peacekeeping missions Republic of Macedonia and Macedonian Army gain personnel who acquires new experience and new skills that are afterwards transferred to all members of the Army.
General Racaj wished successful execution of the mission, and emphasized the importance, seriousness and professional performance of tasks, highlighting the fact that high grades and the training of the Army are the best affirmation of Republic of Macedonia and ARM.
At the end of December 2014 Republic of Macedonia began participating in the mission “Resolute Support”, whose main purpose is to provide training, advice and support to the Afghan security forces.
