As a part of the programme for the marking of 2nd April, the Day of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade (1st MIBde), the largest unit within the Joint Operations Command, on 17.03.2015 at the sport grounds at the barracks” Strasho Pindjur” in Petrovec, the finals of the different sport competitions took place.
Although camaraderie and doing sport were the primary aspect of these competitions, as opposed to the achieved results, there was a motivation for accomplishments.
The first places of the competitions were won by the following teams and individuals: 8 km running males- 3rd mechanized infantry battalion, 4km females- artillery battalion, futsal – 1st mechanized infantry battalion, basketball- 3rd mechanized infantry battalion, table tennis-1st mechanized infantry battalion, volleyball- 2nd mechanized infantry battalion and chess – 1st mechanized infantry battalion.
The service personnel of the 1st MIBde by taking active participation in the sport competitions had shown their level of fitness and sport enthusiasm which are one of the most important factors for proper performance of the tasks.
The most successful teams and individuals, who have won the first places in the competitions, will be presented with certificates at the military celebration on the Day of the Unit.
