As a part of an excellent cooperation between the Army, the Protection and Rescue Directorate and Fire Brigade of Skopje within 10.02. to 14.02.2014 by NBC company from 1st MIB held training for Fire Brigade Skopje in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness in the implementation of activities and measures to protect and rescue when a radiological, chemical and biological contamination is present.
As a final part of training today 14.02.2014 at the Fire Brigade training Area – Skopje at 12.00 by experienced instructors from the NBC company was realized demonstration exercise in scenario “handling the incident with dangerous and unknown substances and conduct personal and collective decontamination” with instructors from NBC Coy were shown the work tehniques and procedures that are applyig in a traffic accident when there is a leakage of dangerous chemicals.
On the presentation, despite the deputy commander of the 1st MIB Colonel Velin Stojanovski attended the Director from Protection and Rescue Directorate, representatives from the Military Academy, Fire Brigade – Skopje and representatives from the City of Skopje.
Earlier in past several days training for radiological, chemical and biological protection of the members of the Fire Brigade of Skopje and team leaders for quick response teams for chemical protection of Protection and Rescue Directorate, was realized according to a plan developed, that included the following contents:
- Characteristics of NBC weapons
- Means of RHB detection and dosimetry,
- Means of personal and collective RHB decontamination
- Actions in NBC terms with staff from Fire Brigade – Skopje.
This is an excellent example of cooperation between the Army of Republic of Macedonia with the state institutions of the Republic of Macedonia and in the future it will evolve and deepens. The purpose of the training is the members of FBS Skopje is to train in performing procedures and practices in NBC conditions and thus provide timely protection and security of the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia.
