Today, in the barracks “Mirche Acev” in Prilep, members of the Artillery Battalion (ArBn), from the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade (1st MIB) marked the day of the unit with a military ceremony.
The ceremony was attended by the commander of the 1st MIB Colonel Dragan Kovachki, the command chiefs of sections, the commanders of the subordinate units, former commanders and retired members of the unit, representatives of the local self-government, governmental and non-governmental organizations, unions, associations, religious communities, representatives of the state and private sector, representatives of the media and other guests who acknowledged the event.
The commander of ArBn, Lieutenant Colonel Gjorgi Vasilevski in his address to the audience talked about the history of the unit, the realized activities in the past period, as well as the tasks and obligations that will follow in the forthcoming period.
The commander of the 1st MIB, Colonel Kovachki stressed that this NATO-declared unit, which passed NATO assessment with highest marks, is in the top priority for modernization with updated and respectable assets and systems, with which all army members, not just the members of the ArBn, will be proud.
At the ceremony on the occasion of the day of the unit, incentives for the members of the unit were given, and the 1st firing platoon from the howitzer battery was declared the best platoon.
The members of the ArBn performed a tactical-technical demonstration (TT) of a part of the armaments and the equipment of the unit.
