Today, at the barracks “Chede Filipovski – Dame” in Kichevo, with a military ceremony, the members of the 1st Infantry Battalion (1st InfBn), within the 1st Infantry Brigade (1stInfBde) traditionally marked May 21, the Day of the Unit, which continues the tradition of the establishment of the Kichevo-Mavrovo Partisan Battalion.
At the celebration, the Commander of the 1st InfBn, Lieutenant Colonel Zoranche Ristovski and the Commander of the 1st InfBde, Brigadier General Sashko Lafchiski addressed the attendants congratulating the Day of the Unit.
The commanders spoke highly of the results the unit achieved in the past period and the activities planned for the coming period.
Prior to the Day of the Unit, in cooperation with the Red Cross and the Department of Transfusiology, a blood donation was organized and 97 blood units were donated.
Commanders of the Army GS subordinate commands and units, former commanders and retired officers of the unit, representatives of the state administration, public institutions and services, representatives of the local self-government units in the area of responsibility of the unit, as well as legal entities and civilians with whom the unit has been cooperating also attended the celebration.
